Traffic Delays Expected This Week on Sea Isle Bridge

The Cape May County Engineers Office announced that biennial inspections of three county bridges will take place during the week of Sept. 16

They will include the Sea Isle Bridge, also known as the Ludlam Thorofare Bridge, connecting JFK Boulevard and the Sea Isle Boulevard Causeway.

The inspection schedule for the bridges is:

• Monday, Sept. 16: Westbound lane closure along Ingram Thorofare Bridge (Route 601/Avalon Boulevard).

• Tuesday-Wednesday, Sept. 17-18: Westbound lane closure along Sea Isle Bridge (Route 625).

• Thursday-Friday, Sept. 19-20: Eastbound lane closure along Crook Horn Bridge (Route 623/Roosevelt Boulevard/Ocean City).

During these dates and times, traffic over the bridges will consist of one lane of travel, with alternating traffic passing the inspection operation.

Traffic will be impacted during the day. Traffic will be maintained during the inspection operation, but there will be some delays.

The bridge consultant will be using a platform truck that will allow inspectors to access the underside of the bridge decks and superstructures. This platform vehicle will occupy one lane of the bridges as it proceeds along the bridge length.
