Andrew Painter made his second start of the Arizona Fall League for the Glendale Desert Dogs Friday afternoon. Here's everything we know about how the afternoon went for the No. 1 overall prospect in the Phillies organization.
Painter pitched two innings for the second start in a row. Against the Mesa Solar Sox, the 21-year-old allowed two hits and one run while striking out two batters:

Painter appeared to have a real shot to make the Opening Day roster in 2023, when he was just 19 years old. However, he suffered an elbow injury in Spring Training that ultimately required Tommy John surgery, which sidelined him for the entirety of the 2024 campaign.
Despite that, Painter remains one of the top overall prospects in the sport, one who the Phillies were reportedly unwilling to discuss in trades this past summer.
