Biking, surfing, wine tasting and a religious procession on the Promenade are among the events taking place in Sea Isle City this weekend.
Saturday, June 1:
Members of the
Overbrook Bicycle Association will make their 59th annual bicycle ride from Philadelphia to Sea Isle on Saturday, June 1.
The ride will begin in the morning on the Philadelphia side of the Tacony-Palmyra Bridge and end on Sea Isle’s Promenade (at JFK Boulevard) at approximately 5 p.m.

The Annual
ESA Surfing Contest will take place on Saturday, June 1, from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sea Isle’s 38th Street beach. For more information, call 609-522-1819 or go to

A Wine Tasting Fundraiser, hosted by the Catholic Daughters of St. Joseph Church, will take place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Kix on 63rd Street. Proceeds benefit the Catholic Daughters’ Charitable efforts. For more information, call 609-216-2907.

Sunday, June 2:
A Feast of Corpus Christi Procession hosted by St. Joseph Catholic Church will take place on Sunday, June 2, starting at 12:30 p.m.
The procession will feature hundreds of participants, the Holy Eucharist displayed in a golden monstrance, and a “Baldacchino” (a rectangular canopy carried by four members of the parish).
It will start at 44th Street and Landis Avenue and proceed east on 44th Street to the Promenade, where the crowd will stop briefly to pray.
Then, the procession will continue north on the Promenade to JFK Boulevard for another prayer session. Finally, the procession will move into Excursion Park, where Benediction will take place at approximately 1 p.m.
