Rain and strong winds are expected for Sea Isle City during stormy weather this weekend, according to the Office of Emergency Management.
Coastal low-pressure systems will move into the area starting late Friday night and will linger through Monday or Tuesday.
Sea Isle can expect moderate to heavy rain starting early Saturday morning and continuing into the evening hours.
At this time, two to three inches of rain are expected as well as strong, gusty winds of 35 to 45 mph.
The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch due to excessive rainfall, which may cause flooding in low-lying areas.
When the rain moves out of the area, a secondary low-pressure system is expected to form off the coast, causing continued onshore winds, which will produce tidal flooding for several tide cycles into next week.
At this time, minor tidal flooding is expected but moderate level flooding is possible.
Due to the heavy rain followed by tidal flooding, motorists are urged to move vehicles from low-lying areas to higher ground, such as the library parking lot at 4800 Central Avenue.
As always, do not drive through flooded streets.
