'Jalen Hurts is Benefiting From Pretty Privilege,' Says Domonique Foxworth on ESPN

  • Eagles

"Jalen Hurts is benefiting from pretty privilege. Because he got up on the press conference after the game, and he acted like he was Josh Allen. Look at this man. With his Kango, looking like Nino Brown. With three thousand million trillion dollars worth of diamonds on his neck. And he acted like he just went for 400 yards for three weeks in a row. Man, you had one good week passing, and everyone forgets it when he starts batting his eyes."

- Dominque Foxworth on ESPN's 'Get Up!' program

Lots to unpack here.

Here's the start of the press conference Foxworth took issue with.

Hurts was definitely feeling himself a little bit after the Birds' win over the Steelers. Most wouldn't begrudge him for that. The quarterback took a boatload of criticism after the prior week's win over the Panthers, with media members across the nation (not to mention teammates) criticizing the Eagles' passing attack.

So after throwing for 290 yards and two touchdowns with a 125.3 passer rating (and leading his team to a tenth straight victory), maybe Hurts deserves some accolades?

Not according to Foxworth, former NFL cornerback and frequent guest on ESPN's Get Up!, among other media endeavors. Hurts is getting some kind of pass, in Foxworth's view, because Hurts happens to be a very pretty man.

The assertion that Hurts is getting any kind of pass from the media is ludicrous to anyone paying attention to the Eagles. The leader of a 12-2 team, his play has been scrutinized and criticized to the point that you'd think the Eagles are 2-12. We know, because we do it right here at On Pattison!

Ok, so maybe he didn't have to go so hard on the ice:

But the comments struck many as out of place, and it didn't take long for internet sleuths to dig up a possible motive for Foxworth's comments: Ashley Manning Foxworth.

Well, damn. Putting two and two together, the comments make more sense now.

The Eagles' QB1 is a handsome guy. Deal with it, Foxworth. Act like the rest of us and just do your best to keep your wife away.

UPDATEThere is apparently more than one video where Ashley Manning Foxworth fawns over Hurts:
