  • News
The following statement about Hurricane Lee was issued Tuesday by Sea Isle City’s Office of Emergency Management:
While the core of Hurricane Lee is forecast to track well off our shores, the effects of this storm will be felt locally in the form of dangerous surf and life-threatening rip currents. These conditions will become significant today and only become more severe through the remainder of the week and into the weekend. There will be six protected beaches this Saturday and Sunday at the 39th, 50th, 60th, 65th, 76th, and 85th Street beaches. These locations may change depending on available lifeguard staff. The Sea Isle City Beach Patrol will post a list of protected beaches on their website each day at 10 a.m. at www.sicbp.com and also on the Beach Patrol’s Facebook page. Only enter the ocean on a protected beach while a lifeguard is present. If you attempt to swim on an unprotected beach, not only are you endangering yourself and those who enter the water with you, the first responders who attempt to rescue you will also be put in harm’s way. Thank you in advance for your cooperation. Please stay safe.
