  • News
The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a Coastal Flood Advisory for Sea Isle City and other nearby coastal areas in effect through midnight tonight. An approaching full moon, light rain and light wind may combine to create flooding conditions. Water levels are predicted to peak in Sea Isle in the hours around high tide at 8:44 p.m. Thursday. High tide on the bay side of Strathmere near Corson’s Inlet is at 8:05 p.m. Overall, flooding is expected to be minor. There could be some partial or full road closures in low-lying areas prone to flooding, according to Sea Isle police. “If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property,” the police department said in a weather alert. With a full-moon tide coming on Friday, another Coastal Flood Advisory may be issued for May 5. Residents should be prepared to move vehicles to safe places well in advance of high tide on Thursday and Friday. For Police and Fire Department emergencies, call 911. For non-emergencies, call 609-263-4311.
