By MADDY VITALE From a new brochure chock-full of special events to an updated visitors website, to be launched in the near future, Sea Isle City is ready to welcome back tourists for what is expected to be a great upcoming spring and summer season. “The calendar of events has been updated and it is jam-packed with fun things to do,” Sea Isle Public Information Officer Katherine Custer said. “We anticipate that 2023 will be a very successful year in Sea Isle City, and we are looking forward to seeing everyone.” Activities, programs, concerts and other events are currently listed on the visitors website at visitsicnj.com. The new reference guide for visitors is expected to be available soon. In addition to the brochure being available in paper form, visitors can view it when it is available on the website, Custer explained. The visitor website will be more user-friendly when the redesign is completed in the coming weeks. It will include more information for visitors wanting to know more about Sea Isle’s vacation attractions. “Our existing visitor website was created about eight years ago and has really served the city well, but it was time for it to be updated,” Custer said. “It is an update, so the site will be more user-friendly and completely mobile-friendly also.” The visitors guide and the improved website were the main topics of discussion during a board meeting Thursday of the Sea Isle City Tourism Commission.

(Photo courtesy of Sea Isle City) Chris Oney, the city’s tourism representative, gave presentations on both the brochure and the soon-to-be-updated visitor website. “The brochure will be a traditional pocketsize booklet that will include a great deal of information about all that you can do in Sea Isle City,” Custer said. “We will include a map, information about our beaches, events and activities and much more.” Custer said that Oney and Trish Jackson, who also works in the Tourism Office, worked hard on the brochures. “They put a lot of time and effort into fine-tuning the information,” she said. “We think the brochure itself will be very well-received.” Each year the city’s Tourism Office selects photos and other features to display in the guide to give it a unique Sea Isle feel. This year, the front of the brochure features the iconic lifeguard boat that is situated in the center island at the end of JFK Boulevard near the Promenade. The boat is a popular attraction for photo ops by visitors to the resort. In addition to the lifeguard boat, there is a little boy with his face painted courtesy of one of the many family-friendly events the city hosts. There are also two bicyclists enjoying the Promenade, one of the main amenities in the city for tourists and residents alike to enjoy. “Our tourism employees stumbled upon those photos and thought it would make a nice presentation,” Custer said. “The inside of the guide will be full color and will have a wide variety of photos taken in Sea Isle City at our events.” The brochures will be mailed out to all of the registered taxpayers in Sea Isle. The guides will also be available in the city’s welcome center, the county’s welcome center and also in state welcome centers, Custer noted. They also will be in other locations in Sea Isle as well as travel shows. “Over 80,000 copies are being printed,” Custer pointed out. “They have a far reach in the city, county and in the state welcome centers.” For more information go to visitsicnj.com.
