The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Coastal Flood Advisory for Sea Isle City, Ocean City, Strathmere and nearby coastal areas in effect from 3 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 4. A Wind Advisory also will be in effect from 6 p.m. Friday through 4 a.m. Saturday. The NWS forecasts easterly winds of 30 to 35 mph with gusts beyond 50 mph. Heavy rainfall could contribute to flooding conditions. Water levels are predicted to peak in the hours around high tide in Sea Isle at 6:30 a.m. Saturday, on the bay side (Ninth Street Bridge) of Ocean City at 6:08 a.m. and on the bay side of Strathmere near Corson’s Inlet at 5:58 a.m. Residents should be prepared to move vehicles to safe places in advance of this high tide before going to bed on Friday night. Some partial or full road closures are possible on Saturday, according to a weather alert issued by the Sea Isle Police Department. For your safety and the protection of your vehicle and neighboring properties, never attempt to drive through flood waters, and do not drive around barricades. For Police and Fire Department emergencies, call 911. For non-emergencies, call 609-263-4311.
