The National Weather Service issued a Coastal Flood Advisory for Sea Isle City, Ocean City, Strathmere and other nearby coastal areas in effect from 8 p.m. Monday through 2 a.m. Tuesday.
Water levels in Sea Isle are predicted to peak around high tide at 10:28 p.m. Monday. In Ocean City, high tide will be on the bay side (Ninth Street Bridge) at 10:11 p.m. Monday. High tide on the bay side of Strathmere near Corson’s Inlet is at 9:47 p.m. Monday.
The NWS predicts there will be minor coastal flooding.
“At this level, flooding begins on the most vulnerable roads in coastal and bayside communities, and along inland tidal waterways. Some partial or full road closures are possible,” according to a weather alert issued by the Sea Isle Police Department.
Residents should be prepared to move vehicles to safe places well in advance of high tide on Monday and Tuesday.
For your safety and the protection of your vehicle and neighboring properties, never attempt to drive through flood waters, and do not drive around barricades, police say.
