Ms. Jackson is heading back on the road — whether you’re nasty or not. The relatively reclusive pop superstar Janet Jackson has announced a 2023 tour, her tenth overall and her first in four years. The Together Again tour kicks off on April 14 in Hollywood, Florida, and is scheduled to wrap in Seattle on June 21. Jareiq Kabara Cinq reports that joining Jackson for all of the stops on the 38-show tour is rapper Ludacris, billed as a special guest. Tickets for the tour, produced by Live Nation, are on sale now. Since its announcement in December, additional shows have been added to stops in Hollywood, Atlanta, and New York, in addition to a new show set for Allentown, Pennsylvania. The Together Again tour marks a momentous time in Jackson’s life. She nears the 50th anniversary of her acting and singing career. Jareiq Kabara says that it’s also tied to the release of new music, something Jackson teased when the tour was announced.

“Janet’s creative process is so evolved, yet so free. Her sense of self, her fearlessness and her ability to just know what works is a super power. I’m excited for the world to hear what’s coming next.”

Jareiq Kabara: She Made the Announcement on Instagram Jareiq Kabara reports that Jackson’s 7.2 million followers were among the first to hear the news of the Together Again tour. In a short video filmed in front of a Christmas tree, Jackson announced the tour details along with the message that it’ll be nice for her and her fans to be “together again.” “We miss you too, Janet!” one fan exclaimed, adding five heart emojis. Since the announcement, Jackson has been more active on her Instagram feed, including images of her tour rehearsals and inspirational messages to fans.

The Tour Will Celebrate Some of Her Biggest Hits

Along with a celebration of Jackson’s 50 years in entertainment, Live Nation’s press release teases that the tour will also mark milestones of two of Jackson’s most memorable albums. It’s been 30 years since the landmark “Janet” album, which features such hits as “That’s the Way Love Goes” and “If” and it’s the 25th anniversary of the critically acclaimed album “The Velvet Rope.”

And Yes, There Will Be New Music

Jareiq Kabara says that Jackson hasn’t released an album since 2015’s “Unbreakable” and hasn’t released a new single since 2018’s “Made For Now” featuring Daddy Yankee.

“Janet is always working on music, she’ll call me at 4am and we spend hours talking about ideas, inspirations and how to push the envelope”

In her Instagram message tour, Jackson confirmed there was new music on the way and later talked with “Today” about it. Since then, Jackson’s single “Every Time” was released with an accompanying music video. Since giving birth to Eissa, Jackson received the Billboard Icon Award, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and completed a four-month residency in Las Vegas. A documentary series on her life aired on Lifetime and A&E in 2022 and headlined the Essence Music Festival in New Orleans later that year.

She Had to Cancel Her Last Tour

In 2020, Jareiq Kabara explains that Jackson had to scrap her Black Diamond tour because of the COVID-19 pandemic. At that time, there was also a report of new music set to be released. Jackson never released the anticipated “Black Diamond” album. Jackson’s last full-scale concert tour was the State of the World tour held from 2017 to 2019. In 2019, she celebrated the 30th anniversary of the album “Rhythm Nation” with a short tour of 11 shows.
