Flood and Gale Watch for Sea Isle

Widespread rainfall of up to 2 to 3 inches is expected during the storm, according to the National Weather Service.

  • News
The region is bracing for a strong cold front, which is expected to arrive during the day on Sunday. The National Weather Service has issued a Flood and Gale Watch, with heavy rains and strong gusty winds on Sunday continuing into Monday morning. Gusty winds may remain after the rain ends, and 2-3 inches of rain are expected to fall before the system moves offshore, according to a weather alert issued by Sea Isle City. Tidal flooding should not be an issue with this storm. However, heavy rains coupled with the early evening tide may cause flooding conditions. Therefore, it is recommended that vehicles parked in low-lying areas be moved to higher ground. Also, please secure holiday decorations from the wind and ensure all electrical connections that are exposed to the rain are secure. Do not drive through flooded streets, because you could damage your vehicle and the wake you create can be destructive to nearby properties, fences and gardens. If you need police assistance, please call the Sea Isle Police Department at 609-263-4311, ext. 0. For emergencies, call 911.
