The public is invited to commemorate POW-MIA Recognition Day by attending a ceremony at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15, at VFW Post 1963, 301 JFK Boulevard, in Sea Isle City.
The community will honor U.S. military members who served as prisoners of war and those who are still missing in action.
Hosted by VFW Post 1963’s Auxiliary, this annual event will include remarks from auxiliary members, local veterans and religious leaders, as well as a “Missing Man Table” display, which will be described in detail for the audience.
The motto on the black-and-white POW-MIA flag is “You Are Not Forgotten.” The community ceremony honors the military heroes who made great sacrifices for the country and will renew the nation’s “commitment to the goal of the fullest possible accounting of all personnel not yet returned to American soil.”
