The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Watch and a Winter Storm Watch in effect for Sea Isle City on Monday.
The Winter Storm Watch will be from 3 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday with accumulations of at least 4 to 6 inches of heavy snow possible. The Coastal Flood Watch will be from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday with “moderate” flooding expected.
Snowfall rates could exceed one inch per hour at times Monday morning. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph, according to the forecast.
“Travel could be very difficult. Hazardous conditions, including snow-covered roads, will likely impact the Monday morning commute, potentially lingering into the evening commute,” the Sea Isle Police Department said in a weather alert.
Minor to moderate flooding is expected with Monday morning’s high tide. Additional coastal flooding is possible Tuesday morning.
Residents should be prepared to move vehicles to safe places well in advance of high tide. Motorists are urged to stay off flooded streets at all times.
