A fundraising event will be held at Gregory’s Restaurant & Bar in Somers Point on Saturday, Feb. 26, to promote South Jersey Coastal Rowing.
The event is from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and will include light fare. Tickets are $30 at the door. Proceeds will help to purchase boats and rowing equipment.
The event is hosted by the founders of South Jersey Coastal Rowing, including two former Sea Isle City Beach Patrol members
, Thomas P. McCann and Tom Feaster.
The entire organizing committee includes:
- Thomas P. McCann, retired Captain of Sea Isle City Beach Patrol
- Daniel Adams, Margate City Fire Chief and former Chief of Longport Beach Patrol
- Joseph Grimes, Ocean City Beach Patrol Alumnus
- Daniel Garbutt, Head Women’s Rowing Coach, Old Dominion University, World Rowing Certified Coastal Rowing Coach, U.S. Rowing Coastal Coordinator, Ocean City Beach Patrol Alumnus
- David Funk, Co-Captain, Ventnor City Beach Patrol, World Rowing Certified Coastal Rowing Coach
- John Swift, Former Margate City Commissioner and Beach Patrol Alumnus
- Joseph Guenther, Retired Chief of Brigantine City Beach Patrol
- Tom Feaster, Retired Director of U.S. Rowing and a Retired Lieutenant of Sea Isle City Beach Patrol. Feaster recently coached three U.S. Coastal Crews in the 2021 World championships that included a Silver Medalist.
