At the start of the April 12 City Council meeting, City Business Administrator George Savastano reported on behalf of Mayor Leonard Desiderio that Sea Isle City’s workforce is actively preparing our town for the summer season ahead.
Also on April 12, City Council introduced Ordinance 1681, which is a standard ordinance that is introduced every year to establish wages, salaries and compensation for city employees.
Following the introduction of Ordinance 1681, Ordinance 1680, which prohibits the planting of invasive species such as bamboo, had its second reading and was adopted.
Each of the resolutions on the Consent Agenda was approved, including:
- Resolution 057, which authorized the purchase of beach access mats (aka “Mobi Mats”) in the amount of $36,798 from Deschamps Mat Systems, of Cedar Grove, N.J.
- Resolution 058, which authorized an increase to the annual LOSAP (Length Of Service Award Program) contribution for the city’s Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
- Resolution 061, which authorized the purchase of 45 park benches, in the amount of $20,868 from Global Industrial, of Port Washington, N.Y., which was based on the lowest quote.
- Resolution 062, which authorized the purchase of a Police Interceptor in the amount of $34,127 through the Cranford Police Co-Op.
