The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Warning for Sea Isle City until 5 p.m. Monday.
Minor flooding occurred Sunday afternoon on streets in low-lying areas and along the bayfront at the public boat ramp at the end of 42nd Place.
Residents using the city’s Trash and Recycling Drop-Off Center next to the bay had to walk across a board to avoid getting their feet wet.
Police issued a weather alert urging motorists to use caution while traveling around the island. The city’s flashing “Road Flooded” signs were activated on streets covered with water, including parts of Landis Avenue starting with 33rd and 34th streets.
“Do not drive your vehicle through flood waters,” police warned motorists in the weather alert. “The water may be deeper than you think it is. You will be putting yourself in danger and your vehicle may be damaged, leading to costly repairs.”
