“Patchy freezing drizzle, sleet, and snow will continue through the evening hours. Snow, sleet, and rain will then increase Friday around sunrise from the southwest as the next system approaches,” the Sea Isle Police Department warned in a weather alert.
Originally, the National Weather Service forecast called for snow accumulation in Sea Isle of up to 1 inch and a light glaze of ice from Thursday morning to Friday morning.
The updated forecast for the second round of the storm through Friday night is warning of an additional 1 to 3 inches of snow combined with the possibility of another light coating of ice. Police are urging motorists to avoid any unnecessary travel.
“Expect slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions will impact the commute times (Thursday) evening and on Friday morning,” the weather alert stated.
