Following is a statement from Mayor Leonard Desiderio:
I am very pleased to announce that Sea Isle City’s beaches and promenade are now open to the public.
Even though we are very happy that two of our community’s greatest attractions are now accessible, certain restrictions must be followed, consistent with the governor’s executive orders.
Activities on the beach are limited to fishing, surfing, walking, running and exercising only; and those who enjoy the promenade will be permitted to walk, run, bike and skate in the fresh salt air.
Also, social distancing must be maintained at all times on both the promenade and the beach, so please keep at least six-feet apart from others and refrain from sitting in beach chairs, sun-bathing, and participating in group activities.
When you enter Sea Isle City’s promenade and beaches, you will notice that signs have been posted to remind everyone of the current restrictions. I cannot stress enough the importance of following these directions so we can safely keep our beaches and promenade accessible now and in the future.
As always, everyone is encouraged to visit our municipal website for additional updates. In the meantime, I wish all moms – and every lady who showers others with kindness – a very Happy Mother’s Day!
Please stay safe, stay well, remain optimistic, and remember: We are all one Sea Isle City, and together we will be stronger than ever.
Sincerely,
Mayor Leonard C. Desiderio
