Authorities arrest a New Jersey man who allegedly tried to lure a girl for sexual favors.
A Pennsylvania man was arrested Wednesday in connection with a series of car burglaries in Sea Isle City, police said in a press release.
John George, 23, of Wallingford, Pa., was charged with two counts of third-degree burglary and two fourth-degree counts of theft.
“We want to thank the public for their assistance in this case. Further we want to reassure the public that even though there is a statewide (coronavirus) quarantine in effect, the Officers of the Sea Isle City Police Department are working hard to keep Sea Isle City safe,” Police Chief Tom McQuillen said in a release Thursday announcing the arrest. “Anyone caught attempting to take advantage of our residents during the statewide quarantine will be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law.”
On Friday, March 20, into Saturday, March 21, police investigated multiple vehicle burglaries and attempted vehicle burglaries in the area of 47th through 51st streets in Sea Isle.
An investigation by patrol officers with support of the Detective Bureau led to identifying George as the burglary suspect, police said.
George turned himself in on Wednesday. He was processed and released on a summons pending a court proceeding.
