On Monday, June 29, the Cape May County Library will begin curbside pick-ups. As outlined in Gov. Phil Murphy’s orders, patrons are currently not allowed inside any library building, but curbside pick-ups are permitted.
Contactless pick-ups will be located near the main entrance of every library branch. Library patrons will be required to wear a face mask while picking up items.
Library patrons can request items for pick-up by placing a hold. This can be done by calling any library branch, or by visiting
cmclibrary.org/borrow/catalog.
The Sea Isle City branch of the county library is located at 48th Street and Central Avenue.
Patrons are encouraged to visit their online account to verify their notification settings and library card number, as no alternate forms of identification will be accepted at this time. Library card holders can begin placing holds for pick-up on June 29.
The Cape May County Library will begin accepting returns starting June 22. Returned items should be placed exclusively in the book drop, outside the front entrance of every library branch.
For the safety of staff, the Cape May County Library will be limited in how often the book drop is emptied during the day.
If the book drop is full, the library kindly asks that items be returned another day. Once items are returned, they will be quarantined for at least 72 hours before returning to circulation.
Staff will begin contacting patrons on June 22 to arrange contactless pick-up of holds that were filled before the library closed. These items have been located safely on the holds shelves since temporarily closing in March.
The Cape May County Library operates branches in Sea Isle, Cape May City, Lower Township, Wildwood Crest, Cape May Court House, Stone Harbor, Upper Township and Woodbine.
The library has books, audio books, downloadable eBooks, video games, music, magazines, and movies.
For the safety and well being of our staff and patrons, Thursday and Friday bookmobile services are temporarily on hiatus.
