For Pete’s Sake Cancer Respite Foundation is teaming up with Maryanne Pastry Shoppe in Sea Isle City to help families facing cancer through their Cancer Respite Program while supporting a local business to celebrate National Donut Day on Friday, June 5.
Twenty cents of each donut purchased will be donated to support the For Pete’s Sake mission. You can call Maryanne Pastry Shoppe at (609) 263-3814 to place an order at its Sea Isle location at 108 44th St.
For Pete’s Sake enables cancer patients and their loved ones to strengthen, deepen and unify their relationships by creating unforgettable and lasting respite experiences, including summer beach outings in Sea Isle.
The Cancer Respite Program includes two forms, the Travel Respite and the Staycation Respite. Both experiences are transformative and address the emotional, psychosocial, financial, physical and spiritual traumas that families confront with a cancer diagnosis.
The program complements traditional treatment, and the respite experience plays a crucial role in the patient continuum of care.
For Pete’s Sake is also partnering with additional local businesses to support the surrounding community amid the COVID-19 pandemic. More information is available at

For Pete’s Sake (FPS) was established by Marci Bossow Schankweiler in 1999 in memory of her husband, Peter R. Bossow, Jr., whose heroic 15-month battle with cancer ended on Sept. 1, 1999.
Since its inception, FPS has served more than 9,000 patients, caregivers and their children. For Pete’s Sake Cancer Respite Foundation, a US-based 501(c)(3) organization, is funded entirely by charitable donations.
