Sturdy Savings Bank recently presented the Bayshore Center at Bivalve with a sponsorship check to support an environmental educational program.

The program is organized and run by the Bayshore Center at Bivalve for fourth and fifth grade students at the Concerned Citizens of Whitesboro’s Homework Club in Middle Township. “We are proud to support programs that provide opportunities for our youth to connect with the environment and broaden their education,” Sturdy Savings Bank President Jerry Reeves said in a press release. The Bayshore Center at Bivalve is New Jersey’s only environmental history museum. Through the state’s official tall ship, the oyster schooner AJ Meerwald and an historic waterfront museum, the center advances the understanding of human impact on New Jersey’s aquatic environment through education, advocacy, and programming. Sturdy Savings Bank serves the community at 14 different locations, including Avalon, Cape May, Cape May Court House, Dennisville, Marmora, North Cape May, North Wildwood, Ocean City, Rio Grande, Somers Point, Stone Harbor, Tuckahoe and Wildwood Crest. Each of Sturdy’s branches consider the communities in which they are located their homes, and are dedicated to see those areas succeed. The bank often donates to local organizations, and supports schools because it values the development of the youth in the communities it serves.
