The January 28 City Council meeting agenda was not lengthy, and the meeting itself was brief.
At the start of the meeting, Ordinance 1649 was introduced with first reading. This ordinance was written to amend Chapters 4, 7, 8, 15 and 20 of the City’s General Ordinances – specifically to allow for consistency and address fees. Ordinance 1649 will have second reading during the February 25 City Council meeting.
Each of the five (5) Resolutions on the January 28 Consent Agenda was approved, including:
- Resolution 021, which authorized a Shared Services Agreement for Project Management Services between Sea Isle City and Ocean City for Sea Isle’s future Community/Recreation Center at 4501 Park Road. The three-year contract with Ocean City for $144,000 will help launch the project and see it through to successful completion.
- Resolution 022, which authorized a Change Order and Final Payment of $9,146 to Think Pavers Tree Planting for the new trees that were installed along JFK Boulevard and Landis Avenue in the downtown business district.
- Resolution 023, which authorized the award of a contract for $19,457 for basketball equipment under an Educational Services Commission of New Jersey Cooperative Bid.
Our next City Council meeting will take place on Tuesday, February 11, at 10:00 a.m. in Council Chambers. We hope to see you there.
