Council Meeting, Community Day Celebration Set for Saturday

Sea Isle City will hold a City Council meeting on Saturday as part of the annual Community Day celebration.  A rundown of Community Day-related events on Saturday and Sunday follows:  City Council Meeting:  City Council will hold a regular meeting at 9 a.m. on Saturday in Council Chambers, located on the third floor of City Hall, 233 JFK Boulevard. The public is welcome to attend.  Community Day:  Mayor Leonard Desiderio will host Sea Isle’s 10th Annual Community Day on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the former public school, 4501 Park Road. Formerly held at the city's Community Lodge, the Community Day event is being moved to the former school this year. During Community Day, residents and visitors may speak with city officials and representatives from local civic organizations. Residents can also shred personal documents, compliments of First Bank of Sea Isle City.  The mayor will distribute his annual “Do the Right Thing” awards to community volunteers. First Bank will present its 2019 Community Partnership Award and a check for $2,000 to a local service organization. There will also face painters and free giveaways.  
The Community Day Municipal Bike Auction will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the former public school building. Anyone who wishes to bid on a bicycle must register on the morning of the auction. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m.  Flood Risk Outreach:  Also on Saturday, residents attending Community Day may speak with the city’s Floodplain Manager and representatives from Flood Risk Evaluator to learn about FEMA regulations and requirements -- and to receive guidance regarding mitigation reporting and flood insurance premiums. CLICK HERE for more details.   Flower Sale on Saturday and Sunday:  The Sea Isle City Garden Club will host its annual Flower Sale fundraiser at the former public school building on Saturday and Sunday. Hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.  The Flower Sale will feature a wide variety of high-quality annuals sold in flats, mandevilla and hibiscus plants, hanging floral baskets, herbs, tomato plants and a selection of perennials.  Proceeds from the Flower Sale benefit the Garden Club’s charitable efforts.
