City Council's Message

  • News
During the March 12 City Council meeting, Ordinances 1632 and 1633 were introduced on first reading:
  • Ordinance 1632, which was proposed by Councilman Bill Kehner, was written to prohibit vehicles from driving through flooded streets and creating wakes that can damage garage doors, fences and other private and public property.
  • Ordinance 1633 was written to allow the City to change certain traffic control signals from their regular red-yellow-green patterns to flashing patterns, which would eliminate unnecessary delays for motorists during the low traffic periods of the off-season.
Ordinances 1632 and 1633 will have Second Reading and Public Hearing during the April 9 City Council meeting.  Ordinance 1629 was adopted following Second Reading and Public Hearing during the March 12 City Council meeting. This ordinance prohibits the improper disposal of waste into the City’s storm water sewers and establishes penalties for the failure to comply.  Each of the eight (8) Resolutions on the March 12 Consent Agenda was approved, including:
  • Resolution 049, which authorized the purchase of Beach Access Matting (synthetic “carpets” for beach entrances) from Deschamps Mats Systems, Inc., of Cedar Grove, N.J., for $110,815.45. This purchase will supply matting for each of Sea Isle City’s beach entrances this summer.
  • Resolution 051, which authorized the Advertisement for Bids for a Beach Kayak Franchise and a Beach Ice Cream Franchise for the summer of 2019, and also a Water and Sewer Pipe and Fitting Bid.
Our next City Council meeting will take place at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 26 in Council Chambers. We hope to see you there!
