The Division of Recreation will host Sea Isle City’s annual Philadelphia Phillies Home Run Derby on Sunday, July 7, at Dealy Field, 59th Street and Central Avenue.
The Home Run Derby is a free event open to boys and girls, ages 7-12, who want to display their batting skills while swinging at balls thrown from a mechanical pitching machine.
Winners will advance to the next level of competition – and hopefully compete in the championship round at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia later this year.
The start times for this year’s Home Run Derby on July 7 are as follows: 11 a.m. for girls ages 7-12 and boys ages 9-10 and 12 noon for boys ages 7-8 and 11-12.
Winners will receive plaques and other prizes.
