At the February 13 City Council meeting, Mayor Desiderio provided Council with Sea Isle’s 2019 Municipal Budget and delivered his annual State of the City Address. During his speech, the Mayor proposed a half-cent tax decrease in the budget and also committed to a zero percent increase in next year’s budget.
Also during the February 13 City Council meeting, Ordinance #1629 was introduced and had first reading. This ordinance, which is required by the State of New Jersey to help keep our waterways clean, was written to amend our existing “Sewer and Water” ordinance, adding a section to prohibit the improper disposal of waste and penalties for the failure to comply.
Each of the twelve (12) Resolutions on the February 13 Consent Agenda was adopted, including:
· Resolutions 025, 027, 033 and 034, which approved Casino Night Applications and 50-50 Applications for the Ocean City Parent Teacher Association and Bishop McHugh Regional School.
· Resolution 029, which authorized a contract with Center Stage Productions for $108,600 that will provide live bands at the Band Shell on Thursday and Saturday evenings this summer, the City’s annual July 4th Concert, and live music on Saturday of Skimmer Festival and Fall Family Festival.
· Resolution 030, which authorized a contract with Viply, LLC, for a Mobile App that allows customers to purchase Beach Tags with a credit card.
· Resolution 032, which was a Declaration of Surplus Property and Disposal, allowing the City to sell five (5) municipal vehicles on line.
