Sea Isle Boy Scouts Looking for New Members

Among other events, the Boy Scouts participate in Sea Isle City's annual St. Patrick's Day Parade.

The Scouts of Troop 76 of Sea Isle City welcome anyone who wishes to learn more about scouting and membership in the Boy Scouts of America, one of the nation’s largest youth programs. Troop 76 meets on Friday nights at the Sea Isle Recreation Center from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Here’s a sample of some of the activities the Scouts participated in last year: Merit badge camps at Belleplain State Forest (where the troop has its home camping grounds), Trunk-or-Treat in Sea Isle, bowling, the SIC Veterans Day ceremony, Skills weekends, the annual Holiday Extravaganza in Sea Isle, the annual Holiday party and the Court of Honor ceremony (honoring scouts who have completed merit badges in the previous year). Also, nights out at the Somers Point Gateway Playhouse, the annual Klondike race (East Creek Lake to Lake Nummy and back through state forest lands), the Polar Bear Plunge Weekend, St. Patrick’s Day Parade, the Mud Hen Run, the annual shooting trip, trip to Franklin Institute and decorating the graves of veterans at several cemeteries in Cape May County.
Among other events, the Boy Scouts participate in Sea Isle City's annual St. Patrick's Day Parade. The Scouts also participated in the annual Sea Isle City Memorial Day ceremony, helping out at the annual Sea Isle City Garden Club flower sale, trip to Washington, D.C., (Arlington Cemetery, Pentagon and 9/11 Memorial), summer camp at Camp Shenandoah in Shenandoah, Va., the Sea Isle City Beach Patrol 100th anniversary parade and the Captain Bill Gallagher Run in Sea Isle. In addition, there were fundraisers and raffles, including the annual Italian hoagie sale, camp cards and the Yeti cooler raffles. The troop celebrated the accomplishments of several Scouts who attained the rank of Eagle Scout this year, and they also participated in a Life Scout project of cleaning headstones at a local cemetery.
