Weather Watch: Heavy Rains, Flash Flooding

  • News
Heavy rains leading to flash flooding are expected Friday afternoon into Saturday, according to the latest forecast for the first part of Easter weekend.  Tidal flooding is expected for the Jersey Shore, the National Weather Service says. The greatest chance of flooding coincides with high tide Friday night.
Some of the thunderstorms expected Friday afternoon and Friday night may be severe, including the possibility of damaging winds.  The marine forecast calls for the possibility of gale force gusts, especially Friday night. Seas could build to above 10 feet by Friday night in coastal waters.  The weather is expected to change to partly cloudy skies and temperatures in the low 60s for Easter Sunday.
