The Sea Isle City Chamber of Commerce and Revitalization is hosting its annual Around the World Social on Friday, Sept. 28. This year, it will be held at the Ocean Drive Sandbar and Grill, at 40th Street and Landis Avenue.The outdoor event, from 6-10 p.m., will feature hors d’oeuvres, soft music and a wine sampling as well as a cash bar. As part of the festivities, the Chamber will present former Councilman John Divney with the 2018 Founders Award. Since 2011, this award has been presented to a person in the business, civic or political community who has made notable contributions to Sea Isle. Divney served three terms on City Council, while also serving as the city liaison to the Chamber.
The Chamber-sponsored Harborfest celebration is scheduled for the next day, Saturday, Sept. 29, at Marina Park. Harborfest is a bayside festival that will feature live music, specialty vendors, family-friendly activities and fresh seafood.It will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine. In the event of heavy rain, it would be moved indoors to The Oar House Pub, formerly the Lobster Loft. Tickets for the Around the World Social can be purchased for $75 in advance from the Chamber and will be available at the door for $90. Tickets are on sale at the Sea Isle Welcome Center at 300 JFK Boulevard or at O’Donnell’s Pour House at 39th and Landis Avenue.For more information about each event, visit www.seaislechamber.com.
