During the October 9 City Council meeting, Mayor Desiderio announced that he received a letter from the Cape May County Planning Department Open Space Board that included some very good news for Sea Isle City’s proposed Fishing Pier & Kayak Launch at Dealy Field.
Following a presentation by the City in August, the Open Space Board has decided to recommend that Sea Isle City receive full funding for this project ($935,605).
The Mayor also announced that applications are now being accepted from participants for the City’s annual Halloween Parade on Friday, October 19.
In addition to several routine resolutions on the October 9 Consent Agenda, the following resolutions were also adopted:
· Resolution 179, which authorized the City’s participation in a National Cooperative Contract to purchase a “navigator cone system” for the Police Department that will be used to improve traffic and pedestrian safety during public events such as parades and festivals ($9,292).
· Resolution 180, which authorized the purchase of a DSR Radar System for nine of Sea Isle’s police vehicles via a New Jersey State Contract ($19,912).
· Resolution 181, which authorized the award of a contract for the purchase of E-Ticketing & Radio Communications Equipment for Sea Isle City’s police vehicles ($27,106).
· Resolution 183, which authorized the purchase of a solar powered blinking stop sign to improve traffic safety at 63rd Street and Central Avenue ($1,544).
