Flood-mitigation projects will have a new source of funding in Sea Isle City.
The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for the Sea Isle City area for Thursday afternoon through early Friday morning. The forecast calls for several inches of rain to fall as the remnants of Hurricane Michael and a cold front pass through the area.
Remove cars from low-lying and poor drainage areas because heavy tropical rain will fall in short periods of time.
As always, do not drive through flooded streets, because vehicles can easily become stranded and destroyed in small amounts of water; plus, the wake your vehicle creates can severely damage private property.
Also, secure all outdoor furniture and other objects that could be affected by the wind.
In case of any emergency, phone 9-1-1.
