I am very proud to announce that Thomas McQuillen is Sea Isle City’s new Chief of Police. As you know, SICPD Chief Tom D’Intino retired earlier this year after 28 years of exemplary service to our community – and we will miss his leadership. Nonetheless, I am certain that Chief McQuillen will maintain the high level of excellence that the Sea Isle City Police Department has long-possessed. Chief McQuillen, a Sea Isle City native who first joined the SICPD in 1993 as a Class II officer, is an Army Veteran and a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University, who is currently working toward his master’s degree in criminal justice. I have every confidence in the Chief’s abilities, and I look forward to working with him as he continues to serve our community with integrity and honor.  We are very fortunate to have a great police department here in Sea Isle City, and I am certain that all the fine men and women who wear a badge in our community will support our new Chief as they carry-on the tradition of excellence that we all expect from our law enforcement officials. Best wishes Chief McQuillen! I am also proud to announce that Sea Isle City Beach Patrol Captain Renny Steele recently received a “Special Safety Recognition Award” from the Atlantic County Joint Insurance Fund (JIF), which is comprised of forty-one communities.  This year, only five individuals received Special Safety Recognition Awards from the JIF – and we are very happy that Captain Steele is one of them!  Anyone who has ever met Captain Steele knows that he is a dedicated and honorable lifeguard and leader who is very safety-minded, and we are very thankful that the JIF recognized him for his “commitment to implementing outstanding safety initiatives to protect Sea Isle City’s beaches.” Congratulations Captain Steele! Earlier this week, the City’s 2018 Visitors Guide rolled off the presses.  As is the case each year, our Visitors Guide is filled with beach information, weekly summer entertainment, recreation and fitness activities, summer sports camps and clinics, a detailed calendar of events, and much more. You can pick-up a 2018 Visitors Guide at the Sea Isle City Welcome Center, City Hall and elsewhere around town.  Also, don’t forget to go to Sea Isle’s visitor’s website,
www.VISITSICNJ.com, where you’ll also find plenty of information that will help you make the most of your time in Sea Isle City. We have a lot planned in 2018 – so don’t miss a moment of the fun! This weekend, as countless people around the world gather with family and friends to celebrate Easter and Passover, I wish you and yours peace, health and happiness! Smile…You’re in Sea Isle!
