A coastal storm will form and strengthen in our area starting tonight and continue through early Thursday morning, bringing snow, high winds, rain and coastal flooding.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning and a Coastal Flood Warning for our area starting this evening through early Thursday morning.
Minor tidal flooding is expected with this evening’s high tide at approximately 11:30 p.m. Moderate tidal flooding is expected with Wednesday’s high tide around 12 p.m. and again around midnight on Thursday morning.
The storm will bring strong gusty winds and rain, which will turn to snow through the day on Wednesday. Four inches to six inches of snow is forecast to fall in our region. As with all coastal storms, this may change depending on the tract of the storm.
We ask that you move your vehicles from low-lying areas to avoid tidal flooding. Additionally, we ask that you remove your vehicles from City streets to allow for curb-to-curb plowing should it be necessary.
Do not drive through flooded streets because you will not only severely damage your vehicle, but your wake will push water into businesses and residential properties causing damage.
