By Donald Wittkowski Was there an escape from the Cape May County Zoo? There are seagulls and hermit crabs and even the occasional fox running around on Sea Isle City’s beaches, but a giraffe? C’mon! But there she was, in all her Labor Day weekend glory, Gucci, the 6-foot-tall giraffe standing on the 40th Street beach. Wearing a patriotic red, white and blue bikini no less.
The plastic giraffe was part of some end-of-the-summer hijinks Sunday by Michelle Pisani, of Lafayette Hill, Pa., and her friends. Gucci, we’re told, was a gift for their beach house. Joining Pisani – and Gucci – were Tara Ellington, Jill Kaputa, Jessica Rolfe, Emilia Levisay, Bridget Fennessey, Sofia Madia and Katie Radick. We have one question for them, though. Does the giraffe have a beach tag? Gucci takes a dip in the ocean, wearing her patriotic-themed bikini.
