The members of Sea Isle City’s Garden Club will host their annual Flower Sale Fundraiser. Proceeds from the event will support the club’s charitable efforts. Shown during a previous Flower Sale are members (from left) Mary Tighe, Eleanor Mooore, Ann Organ, Monica Santarchangelo, Rose Divney, Kathy Wilson, Janice Gheysons, and Donna Hadfield.
The members of the Sea Isle City Garden Club will host their annual Flower Sale Fundraiser at the Dealy Field Recreation Complex, 6108 Central Avenue, on Saturday and Sunday, May 20 and 21 (8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday and 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday). The Flower Sale will feature a large selection of quality flowers sold in flats, including begonias, lantana, marigolds, vinca and other popular blossoms. There will also be flowering Mandeville, hanging floral baskets and other potted plants for sale – including tomato plants.
Proceeds from the Flower Sale will benefit the Garden Club’s scholarship program and other charitable efforts.
Also during the Flower Sale, the Sea Isle City Environmental Commission will have tree samples on display, including Ornamental Cherry Trees, Bradford Pears and Crepe Myrtles, each of which tend to do well in seashore environments. The Commission will display the tree samples to promote the value of planting trees, which beautify communities and create homes for birds and other wildlife. The Environmental Commission will also give-away free tree seedlings to customers during the Flower Sale (while supplies last).
