Sea Isle City will experience a partial solar eclipse on Monday afternoon (Aug. 21). Here are some things you may want to know about the event.
The eclipse will begin in the early afternoon and peak at about 2:45 p.m. in Sea Isle City.
It will not be a total eclipse. Sea Isle City is far north of the 70-mile-wide path across the United States that will experience total darkness.
Remember, do not look directly at the sun without proper equipment. It could cause damage to the retina. The eclipse itself is not dangerous, but staring at the sun is (and the eclipse makes that more possible and enticing).
