On April 5
th, Sea Isle City held its annual Easter Egg Hunt. The program was split up into three different age groups ranging from newborns to 11 year olds. Before the event a surprise early visit from the Easter Bunny was arranged for pictures. The event provided plenty of opportunity before the egg hunt itself to take pictures with the Easter Bunny. Many parents found their kids wanting their picture taken with several different groups of friends. After pictures, the parents let their children play on the playground while waiting for the event to start.

The Event was split up by age. Each age group got their own venue with their own eggs and toys to pick up. The first group was children 3 and under. This group had run of the hockey rink to gather up their goodies. Parents lined up their children on the north end of the rink before the whistle blew. The second they heard the word, the toddlers were off and running toward the eggs.

The second group was children ages 4 to 7 years old, who hunted for their eggs and toys on the basketball courts. Since this age group was older and had more energy than the first group, the parents were not individually assisting their children as much, making it appear as more of a race for treasure than an Easter egg hunt.

Finally, the last group was children from 8 years old to 11 years old, and was held on the skate park. These kids were the fastest. Given their age, parents did not need to watch their children, and the kids could run around at their leisure picking up eggs, kites, toys, and candy.

To wrap up the day’s activity, when the Easter egg hunt was over parents and children congregated on the playground for extended fun. “The event was great!” said Lucy McDowell, mother of Avery McDowell. “My daughter had a blast!” Many commented on the timing of the event aswell. “The timing was great,” said Greg Maxwell. “It was on a week night, and two weeks before Easter, so I liked the timing.” “It was a great event, and was very quick,” said Marti Hummell, who was also attending the event.
