SEA ISLE CITY’S ANNUAL BABY PARADE WILL SPOTLIGHT INFANTS, OLDER KIDS AND A VARIETY OF PROFESSIONAL ENTERTAINERS ON JULY 19

 Octopus Garden (3) 2016 MARKS THE 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF SEA ISLE CITY’S FIRST BABY PARADE Sea Isle City’s Division of Tourism will host the resort’s annual Baby Parade on Tuesday, July 19, at 6:30 p.m. along Sea Isle’s oceanfront Promenade (34th Street to 44th Street).  The parade’s rain date is July 20. Taylor Evans, 8 and Casey Evans, 5, of Kennett Square, PA, were among the many costumed youngsters who participated in Sea Isle City’s 2015 Baby Parade. th Anniversary. Sea Isle’s first Baby Parade took place in August 1916, hosted by the Sea Isle City Women’s Civic Club. Representatives from the Civic Club will serve as Grand Marshalls during 2016’s Baby Parade. As is the case each year, the 2016 Baby Parade will feature live music and many eye-catching participants. The parade is open to boys and girls up to age 10.  Participants will be judged in several categories, including Most Attractive Boy (infant to 2 years); Most Attractive Girl (infant to 2 years); Riding Fancy/Comic/Original (decorative strollers, kiddy wagons and small floats); Walking Fancy/Comic/Original; and Floats pulled by vehicles. During Sea Isle City’s annual Baby Parade on July 19, participants can appear in everyday attire or choose a theme that strikes their fancy. Winners in each category will be chosen by a panel of independent volunteers. Prizes will be awarded to winners at the parade’s main viewing area on the Promenade at JFK Boulevard. Baby Parade participants must pre-register by 4:00 p.m. on Monday, July 18. Application forms are available at the Sea Isle City Welcome Center, located at 300 JFK Boulevard, and online at www.VISITSICNJ.com and click  (under the Calendar listing for this event).
