“History of Sea Isle City" Presentation set for July 18

Sea Isle Library and Historical Museum - 4800 Central Avenue, Sea Isle City, NJ On Monday, July 18, at 6:00 p.m., the Sea Isle City Historical Society will host a special program called “The History of Sea Isle City” inside the Sea Isle City Library, located at 4800 Central Avenue, home of the Sea Isle City Historical Museum. This free event, which is open to the public, is being sponsored by the Cape May County Library System. “The History of Sea Isle City” is a multi-media, one-hour program led by Historical Society President Mike McHale. During the presentation, audience members will enjoy an oral and pictographic “walk down Memory Lane” that will highlight: Pre-historic times in the region

  • Whale harvesting in the 1700’s
  • Sea Isle City Founder Charles Landis
  • Early Sea Isle City settlers and their ethnicities
  • Why Sea Isle was initially considered a “Health Resort”
  • Sea Isle’s street-layout and early development
