Matthew Baldini, 17, of Boy Scout Troop 76, has officially completed his Eagle Scout Project. A Sea Isle City native and student at Ocean City High School, he created a detailed pamphlet, titled
Sea Isle City Accessible To All, that will help residents and visitors with disabilities enjoy the resort more easily.
Sea Isle City Accessible To All outlines the ADA accessibility levels of local businesses, public facilities, churches and more. The informative booklet, which is now available at the Sea Isle City Welcome Center, City Hall and elsewhere around town, also includes details about special City services, and it has QR-Codes that directly link mobile device users to the City’s Business Directory and Ordinance Site.
Matthew Baldini, 17, is shown with his parents, Paul and Heather, while presenting his Eagle Scout Project to the City of Sea Isle City on August 2. The Baldini family has a long history of scouting. Matthew’s older Brother, Paul, Jr., and his father are also Eagle Scouts.
On August 2, the future Eagle Scout presented 2500 copies of the pamphlet and a display rack to the City during a brief ceremony inside the Welcome Center, where Mayor Leonard Desiderio, members of City Council and other City officials gathered to congratulate him for a job well done.
Realizing that facilities and businesses sometimes change, Matthew also presented a check for more than $1,000 to the City, which will help sustain the brochure’s accuracy for the next five years.

"My Eagle Project is designed to benefit visitors and residents alike who need information on accessible businesses in Sea Isle, said Matthew. It has been both a challenge and a great experience working with my family, fellow scouts, and the community in completing this project. I want to thank everyone who helped make this project a success, and I strongly urge anyone who needs information on accessibility to use this great resource it’s even on Sea Isle City’s municipal website."
