On this Thanksgiving week, I want to acknowledge all of the sacrifices made by so many this year, and particularly during this time, when many of us will be unable to spend time with friends and loved ones.

My recurring message for our community throughout this pandemic has been to ask everyone to remember that we have to stick together.

This is so important, because while we may not be able to be physically together, it’s our shared spirit of goodwill, our caring and compassion for one another, and our determination to persevere that will get us through this.

Even with the resurgence in COVID cases, there is light at the end of the tunnel – we’ve all heard the news about the progress of vaccines, and we are hopeful that by the middle of next year things will be vastly different.

While we’ve cancelled many events, we are still going to have a visit from Santa this Friday, November 27, as he parades through town along Landis Avenue from 29th to 93rd Street starting at 7 p.m.

I wish everyone a safe and happy Thanksgiving; and once again ask you to remember that we are all one Sea Isle City – and together we will be stronger than ever.

Sincerely,

Mayor Leonard Desiderio
