The Cape May County Park & Zoo is located in Cape May Court House.

Summer is over but the fun continues at the Cape May County Park and Zoo. Fall through winter holiday events are being added to the calendar and are adding up to be the best ever this year, according to a county press release.

“The Park and Zoo staff has gone over the top to create a fun-filled fall and winter events schedule that will put a smile on everyone’s face. I encourage everyone to make plans to attend these free and fun upcoming events,” said Cape May County Commissioner E. Marie Hayes, liaison to the Cape May County Park and Zoo.

She added, “They have added a new event and brought back some family favorites. I’m so looking forward to being there again this year, and don’t want anyone to miss out.”

Some of the events are as follows:

October 23 — Join us for our brand-new event “Jump-In Challenge” to see if you can jump as far as a kangaroo. Register the morning of the 23rd inside the Zoo from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Age group-specific “Jumps” will begin at 11 a.m. with one practice jump and two measured, just like the track and field event “long jump.”

Competitor jumpers are invited to attend from ages 3 to 100. Winners from each age group will receive a special award ribbon and a prize for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place and photos of our champions will be posted on our website and social media.

October 29 — Halloween brings the best family event in Cape May County, Boo at the Zoo, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Sponsored by the Cape May County Board of Commissioners, this event is free and open to the public. Visitors of all ages are invited to wear a costume to this fun family event, which includes activities for the kids, a craft station, games, candy, entertainment, animals, an inflatable obstacle course, and more.

This event includes a Costume Contest that will start at 11 a.m., registration begins at 10 a.m. An awards presentation will follow the Halloween costume contest.

The Cape May Dancers will perform at noon, with a live animal show. Master DJ & Sound will be rocking the event with special Halloween tunes.

November 12 — Be on the lookout when the Pirates and Princesses take over the Zoo from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Visitors of all ages are invited to wear their best dress-up apparel to this event, which includes activities for the kids, a craft station, games, entertainment, an inflatable pirate ship, and, of course, animals. Your favorite princesses will hold coronation ceremonies and Disney Trivia along with Kaptain Kristian, the cleverest pirate, and his crew to entertain young and old.

November 26 — Start the holiday season off with Santa’s Tree Lighting. The celebration is planned from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Join the Holiday festivities with Santa’s village shopping, live music and carolers, ice sculpture carving, and lots of other family-friendly, free entertainment.

The Cape May County Park & Zoo is open every day except Christmas currently from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Zoo fall/winter hours begin Friday, Nov. 4, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Find more information about all our events at www.cmcZoo.com
