On Tuesday, July 4, Sea Isle City is the perfect place to celebrate our Nation’s Independence.  The day gets started with a farmers market, guided beachcombing walk, competition for kids, evening concert and a colorful fireworks display.

The Sea Isle City Chamber of Commerce & Revitalization will hold their weekly Farmers Market at Excursion Park, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  Visitors and residents are encouraged to browse and shop a variety of local produce and vendors.  For more information about the Farmers Market, call 609-263-9090.

Children (ages 3-13) are invited to Dealy Field at 9:30 a.m. for Sea Isle’s annual Junior Olympics competition. Hosted by volunteers from the Yacht Club of Sea Isle City and the City’s Division of Recreation, Junior Olympics is a long-standing July 4th tradition that includes running, jumping and throwing contests.  Olympic-style medals will be presented to winners as they stand on a three-tiered victory platform. This event lasts for approximately two-hours, so don’t forget to bring sunscreen and water for your young Olympians. For more details about Junior Olympics, call 609-263-0050.

Why not take a Guiding Beachcombing Tour!  Led by volunteers who share a passion for the beach and aquatic life, beach tours are one-hour excursions that are as informative as they are enjoyable.  At a cost of only $1 per person, the family-friendly environmental walks along the sand give tour-takers the opportunity to explore the beach and learn interesting facts about the surrounding environment.  The tours are very popular with children and adults alike.  Tours take place promptly at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday mornings on the 29th Street Beach (weather permitting) – no pre-registration is required – simply show-up and join the fun!  For more information about the Guided Beachcombing Tours, call (215) 805-9277.

Sea Isle City’s annual Independence Day Concert which is hosted by the City’s Division of Tourism will take place at the Excursion Park Band Shell, from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m., featuring Ed Vezinho & The Jim Ward Big Band – a 17-piece orchestra that will perform a variety of classic patriotic tunes and Americana music.   Concert-goers are reminded to bring beach blankets or folding chairs to this free event.

Then, Sea Isle’s Independence Day Fireworks Show will take place at 9:00 p.m., launched from an ocean barge near the 50th Street beach.   For more information about the concert and fireworks, call 609-263-8687.
