Holiday beach tags are on sale and Sea Isle resident Carol Fusco, left, buys some from Sea Isle Public Information Officer Katherine Custer.

Holiday beach tags went on sale in Sea Isle City this week, so for all those shoppers who love the beach and want to give the gift of sun, fun and happiness, this is the perfect stocking stuffer for you.

The beach tags for this season’s celebration display a deer and snowflakes.

“I think they are fun, and I think they are great stocking stuffers,” said Sea Isle’s Chief Financial Officer Paula Doll. “It is a great gift for a neighbor or a friend or a thank you gift. People do collect them.”

When the holiday beach tags went on sale Wednesday, there were 2,000 available.

But Doll emphasized that they go fast and sell out each year.

The preseason price is $20 a tag, as opposed to $25 after May 15. The holiday-themed beach tags are good for the entire 2020 summer season.

In something new this year, the city is offering free holiday beach tag cardholders to dress up the festive pieces. The cardholders are expected to be available next week, Doll said.

Anyone wishing to pick up the cards, even if they already purchased the beach tags, may do so at either the Welcome Center or City Hall, she said.

In addition to making great gifts, Doll noted that some people get rather creative with the tags.

“Someone told me they turn them into ornaments and hang them on the tree,” Doll said. “There are some real creative people out there.”

People can purchase the holiday beach tags in City Hall at the Tax Office on the second floor at 233 JFK Boulevard, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (except holidays); or at the Welcome Center at 300 JFK Boulevard, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Holiday beach tags are also available at the cash-only beach tag vending machine, located in the lobby of City Hall, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Carol Fusco, of Sea Isle City, is often one of the first — if not the first — person to pick up holiday beach tags each year.

On Wednesday, she walked into the Welcome Center and bought seven of them for family members.

“I get them every year for my family. They’re great stocking stuffers,” Fusco said.

Richard Magee, of Ocean View, stopped by the Welcome Center on Wednesday to select some gifts for his relatives.

“I have family in Sea Isle. They make good gifts,” Magee said, while holding a baggie of holiday beach tags.

Sea Isle Public Information Officer Katherine Custer helped Fusco and Magee with their purchases and said the holiday beach tags are a hit year after year.

“We expect the holiday beach tags to once again sell quickly,” Custer said. “People love to give them as gifts and they also are great to round out a beach tag collection.”
