Trick-or-treaters and their parents are urged to check the Halloween candy that is brought home as a precaution.

The City’s Division of Recreation will host a “Trunk-or-Treat” event on Halloween Night, Oct. 31, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Municipal Marina Parking Lot along 42nd Place (adjacent to the Welcome Center), where residents, businesses, and organizations are invited to distribute candy to trick-or-treaters from their vehicle’s trunks or open tail gates.

A prize will be given to the best decorated vehicle. For more information or to reserve a parking space for Trunk-or-Treat, please phone 609-263-0050.

For those who prefer to distribute candy from their homes or businesses on Halloween Night, traditional door-to-door Trick-or-Treating will also take place in Sea Isle City from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

To help trick-or-treaters know which homes and businesses will be handing-out candy on Oct. 31, the Recreation Office is creating a “Trick-or-Treat Route,” which will be available to families prior to Halloween Night.

If you would like to add your address to the Trick or Treat Route, please call the Recreation Office at 263-0050.

REMEMBER – While Trick-or-Treating, children should wear brightly colored costumes that do not drag the ground, carry flashlights, have a planned route, and never walk alone.
