The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Watch in effect for the Jersey Shore from late Friday night through Saturday morning.

A storm system off the coast and strong north to northeast winds will combine to create at least one exceptionally high tide. The flood watch remains in effect until 10 a.m. Saturday, according to a weather alert from the Sea Isle City Police Department.

Residents should be prepared to move vehicles from areas that typically experience flooding before going to bed on Friday night.

For your safety and the protection of your vehicle and neighboring properties, never attempt to drive through flood waters, and do not drive around barricades.

For police and fire department emergencies, call 911. For non-emergencies, call the police department at 609-263-4311.
