There were very few items listed on the October 8 City Council meeting agenda, and subsequently the meeting was very brief.

However, during the meeting, Business Administrator George Savastano updated Council on the City’s pending beach replenishment project and explained that the Army Corps of Engineers has awarded a contract to Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Company, and the plan is to complete the project by the summer of 2020.

Mr. Savastano added that, based on the current conditions of the beach, replenishment operations will take place from approximately 29th Street to 50th Street and approximately 73rd Street to 93rd Street, and that more details regarding the beach replenishment project will be available over the next 30 days.

Also during the October 8 meeting, City Council President J.B. Feeley explained that the City will be conducting an online survey to determine if Sea Isle City property owners support the construction of an indoor swimming pool at the former public school facility on Park Road.

The survey will take place from October 23 through November 5, and more details about how to take the survey will be made available in the City’s E-Newsletter and also in the fourth quarter water-sewer bills later this month.

City Council’s next meeting will take place on October 22 at 10 a.m. in Council Chambers – we hope to see you there.
