During the November 27 City Council meeting, a very large audience filled Council Chambers in anticipation of the second reading and public comment for Ordinances 1626, 1627 and 1628, which pertain to affordable housing.

Many of the property owners in attendance asked questions about the new ordinances. For nearly two hours, City Solicitor Paul Baldini answered those questions in detail, after which each of the three ordinances was adopted.

The adoption of these ordinances will keep our city in compliance with the state’s affordable housing requirements. Sea Isle City’s Affordable Housing Plan is as compatible as possible with our community’s current zoning ordinances and still complies with state requirements.

Each of the thirteen resolutions on the November 27 Consent Agenda was approved, including:

·   Resolution 210, which authorized the creation of a trust fund for Sea Isle City’s new Affordable Housing Plan.

·   Resolution 217, which authorized the Advertisement for Bids/Request for Proposals for a Mobile App for Beach Tag Sales/Misc. Sales and Credit Card Processing, Tree Planting, a Fire Department Exhaust Removal System, Preventative Maintenance Service and Servicing of Existing Heating/Ventilation/Air Conditioning Equipment.

·   Resolution 218, which authorized an amendment to the Ocean City Cooperative Pricing for 2019 Fireworks.

·   Resolution 221, which authorized the adoption of Sea Isle City’s Capital Plan for 2019-2013.

Our next City Council meeting will take place on Tuesday, December 11, at 10 a.m. in Council Chambers. We hope to see you there.

Best Regards from the members of City Council:
